As water from a good public supply is added to a storage tank, the water quality deteriorates, and micro-organisms start to grow within the water storage system to unhealthy levels. Lack of tank sanitation greatly impacts the health of users. Poor quality tank water can lead to several health issues such as diarrhoea, anaemia, botulism, ascariasis, dengue, fluorosis, hepatitis, giardiasis, malnutrition, typhoid and many more disease.
In Africa were security is a major challenge, people are wary of opening their doors to technicians to clean or repair their tanks. In addition, it is very difficult to vouch for the medical condition of those who claim they wash tanks. FF took this mantle on by training medically cleared technicians in the safe washing and repairs of Polytanks and other water storage tanks
Cleaning of tanks and other storage tanks requires using safe chemicals. We use biodegradable products that have been fully tested and approved by the appropriate environmental agencies. Further more, we purify the tanks using chlorine based tablets to remove any traces of bacteria contaminants following the wash.
For food processing or water companies, we carry out a non-intrusive wash of the tanks.
